Conservation Authorities, created in 1946 by an Act of the Provincial Legislature, are mandated to ensure the conservation, restoration, and responsible management of Ontario's water, land, and natural habitats through programs that balance human and environmental needs. The Catfish Creek Conservation Authority (CCCA) works to ensure that the Catfish Creek watershed’s rivers, lakes, and streams are properly safeguarded, managed, and restored; protects, manage, and restore the Catfish Creek watershed’s woodlands, wetlands, and natural habitat; develop and maintain programs that will protect life and property from natural hazards such as flooding and erosion; and provide opportunities for the public to learn from, to enjoy, and respect the natural environment. The Catfish Creek Conservation Authority is a local non-profit organization that needs your financial support and volunteerism to ensure community driven environmental initiatives continue in the future. Charitable Registration Number 10687 9240.
The Catfish Creek Conservation Authority works with landowners to improve their property by providing technical and financial assistance for projects such as erosion control, tree planting, habitat creation and restoration, and other stewardship initiatives.
Springwater Conservation Area offers a wide range of activities from hiking, biking, birdwatching, canoeing and kayaking opportunities, and many more! Transient and seasonal camping is available at the Springwater Conservation Areas (both serviced and non-serviced) from May until October.
