Description:
It was built in 1854 and is an example of Italianate Romanesque Architecture with Tuscan Gothic details. It was the fifth jail built by the Province. Five hangings took place within the gaol walls although the last hanging was the only one performed in the building. The building has been recognized by the National Inventory of Historic Buildings.
