Need a hand to prepare your tax return? Volunteers can prepare your income tax and benefit return for you if you have modest income and a simple tax situation. Volunteers are not employees or volunteers of Canada Revenue Agency.

Application: Remember to bring all your tax slips and forms with you. RC(62), T5007, T4, T4A(P), T4A(OAS), T4E, T3, T5, also last years (2016) tax return or 2016 Notice of Assessment (if available), rent receipts, property tax bill, charitable and medical bills, public transit receipts RRSP contribution receipts, etc. NOTE: you should have a bank account and direct deposit, ask your bank for "direct deposit" authorization if not previously submitted.
Eligibility: Must be a simple tax return You must have an annual income of $30,000 for Individual, $35,000 Individual with a dependent, $40,000 per couple or less. Individuals must complete and sign a consent form which gives permission for qualified volunteers to complete your personal tax return. Returns not Eligible: self-employment income * business or rental income & expenses * capital gains or losses * employment expenses * bankruptcy * completing a return for a deceased person
